Derrick Barden from Northern Colorado has earned StatSheet's Big Sky Player of the Week award for March 4th. StatSheet's Big Sky Freshman of the Week is Dewayne Russell from Northern Arizona. Also, Sacramento State's Jordan Salley has taken StatSheet's Big Sky 6th Man of the Week. Barden put up a strong showing in assists (3 per game), shooting (60%), and scoring (23 pts per game). The Northern Colorado junior played well for the Bears in wins against Eastern Washington and Portland State.

Barden topped all scoring and rebounding for the Bears with 28 points and 10 rebounds in a close 88-80 win over Eastern Washington. He followed that up with 18 points and 8 rebounds in an 85-75 win over Portland State.

This is the first time this season that Derrick Barden has been selected StatSheet Big Sky Player of the Week. However, he has received an honorable mention. The runner-up this week is Northern Colorado junior Tate Unruh. Honorable mention goes to our own Troy Huff.
